What’s Next?

Step 1: Salvation

If you have already prayed and asked Jesus to forgive your sins, Congratulations!

If you have not prayed, but would like to, just pray the following prayer:
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness.  I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead.  I turn from running my own life, and now I ask You to run it.  I invite You to come into my heart and life.  I trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.  In Jesus’ Name, amen.”

Step 2: The Bible

The Bible is food for the spiritual life, which needs to be nourished just as your body does. Start by reading the Book of John. Getting a bible reading plan is always helpful.

Step 3: Prayer

Prayer is your lifeline to God. Form the positive habit of starting each day with a few minutes in prayer. Have a conversation with God. A Christian is to be Christ’s witness. You are to be an ambassador for Him wherever you go. Share your story.

Step 4: Find a local church

We want you to love church. You can’t be an effective Christian on your own. Get involved in a local church. While personal Bible study is extremely important to your spiritual growth, you also need to  make a regular practice of going to church.  Why is Church so important?  For one thing, Jesus Himself established the church (see Matthew 16:18).  The church is not just a building, but an assembly of people who believe (as Peter said in Matthew 16:16) that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God.  So, why go to church?  Because being involved in a local church is a vital part of growing in your Christian faith.  You need a place where you will be encouraged and instructed.  You need a place where you can give out what God has given you.  A simple prayer you pray might go like this:  Lord, You established the church, it is important.  Please help me to make a regular practice of going to church.  Please show me how to get involved in my church in order to grow and to serve You.

It’s hard to find a great church home and we want to help you with that. Even if you don’t feel this church is for you, we want to help connect you with a church that will help you grow in your relationship with God.

Here is why we think you will fall in love with Cathedral of Life Ministries: There’s a lot we could say about COL, but if you had to put us in a nutshell, then we would say, the people are warm and welcoming, the music provides a vibrant, uplifting, and meaningful worship experience that allows each of us to express ourselves to God, the Kids Ministry is super fun, the Youth Ministry is active and exciting, the message is a relevant & life giving biblical word, and we have loving pastors who truly care. We have a passion for God and a passion for people!

DON’T TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT!

COME AND SEE FOR YOURSELF!

So come on in, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and see if this is the church for you. When you’re ready to find your role at Cathedral of Life, we’ll be ready to help plug you in. We look forward to meeting you soon!

To really experience COL, we’d like you to visit us at least two to four weeks. We don’t expect our visitors to stand up or give money. If you want to slip in our service and be anonymous, that’s ok with us. The important thing is that you find a great church home that you and your family can attend regularly.

Step 5: Attend a Meet and Greet at Cathedral of Life

We want to get to know you and your family! This is where you will get to meet the pastors and their team. This is a perfect opportunity to get to know the church, who is involved, and ask questions. Meet and Greets are the first Sunday of every month, following the service. Lunch will be provided.

Step 6: Attend Growth Track

Growth Track is a catalyst to help you become a more fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ.  The track offers the tools necessary to make this happen in your life.  From the initial decision to accept Jesus as your Lord, to your final destination in life-changing ministry, we will lead you step-by-step from healing to growth and into a fulfilling ministry role. We want to help you step into everything God has specifically for you.

The track is two classes of in-depth lessons to help you know what Cathedral of Life is all about. This is where you will learn who we are, what we believe, our vision, membership, and all the essentials of following Christ. This class also helps discover your gifts and figure out your role in the church. These classes are provided every month. Lunch and childcare are provided.

Step 7: Be Baptized

Christ called baptism as our first step of obedience – an outward expression of your inner commitment to God.  It’s a way to celebrate your new life in Christ.  Baptism services take place throughout the year.  Sign-up for the next baptism service at the Cathedral of Life’s guest services desk.

Step 8: Join a Life Enrichment Group

You don’t have to stand alone. We know that community and staying plugged in is so important to your spiritual growth and, really, for you as a human being. COL’s Life Enrichment Groups are about friendship and support and accountability. These groups are based around various interests, activities, or life stages, and allow you to develop meaningful relationships that will enrich your life and strengthen your faith. If you aren’t connected in a Life Enrichment Group, we hope you will consider it a next step for you in your journey of faith.

Groups meet once a week in homes, businesses, restaurants, or other locations throughout the city. The groups change and begin again three times a year, so you have the opportunity to try out different ones. You’ll never fully experience all that Cathedral of Life has to offer until you connect in a Life Enrichment Group!
